Greater Mekong Sub-Region Border Areas Health Project (the Project) aims to improve access to affordable health services in and around selected border areas where migrant populations pass through and reside on either a short- or long-term basis. The project will improve the health of the migrant workforce and their families, as well as local communities, in selected border areas of Cambodia. Mongkol Borei Referral Hospital, the project includes a new building with a total ground floor area of 7,710m2. The new main building will be three floors high. The project will require demolition and removal of some old buildings (single story) dating from the 1960s, which will be rebuilt. The Concept Design previously developed includes a separate wing as a TB ward with a ground floor area of 669m2.
1. Project outputs will include:
Output 1: Health service delivery in selected border areas strengthened
Output 2: Health financial protection for migrant populations improved
Output 3: Systems for integrated and gender responsive delivery of health services within and across borders enhanced
2. The project fits within the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) regional cooperation strategy and country partnership strategies and country operations business plan for Cambodia.
